About Us
The Temple Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a sisterhood of college-educated women committed to public service, academic excellence, and social advocacy in the Greater Temple, Texas area. Chartered to serve and uplift our local community, we proudly uphold the ideals and principles of our national organization through intentional programming, impactful outreach, and servant leadership.
Our work is guided by Delta Sigma Theta’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust, which shapes our mission and service across the following areas:
Educational Development
We champion academic excellence by supporting local youth through scholarship programs, mentoring, college readiness initiatives, and educational enrichment.
Economic Development
We empower individuals and families by promoting financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and economic self-sufficiency through workshops, community partnerships, and outreach efforts.
Political Awareness and Involvement
We lead with action and purpose by advocating for civic responsibility, voter education, and public policy that impacts our community on local, state, and national levels.
International Awareness and Involvement
We engage in global causes and support international communities through service projects, awareness campaigns, and initiatives that foster a sense of global responsibility and unity.
Physical and Mental Health
We promote holistic wellness by addressing health disparities and encouraging physical, mental, and emotional well-being through education, advocacy, and direct community engagement.
